Hi all

On Friday 14th March I was riding at Lakeside (Arena-Essex) and had three rides; in the rides I think I was improving bit by bit each time but still have a little coasting and must get rid of it but that’s down to me. Only I can do that but I was getting quicker and quicker in my three rides.

Hi all

On the 7th March I was riding at Lakeside practising with the team and some others; it was a good day but I was very slow and I am going to put right what’s wrong.

On 8th March I rode at Scunthorpe and had a better day than I did at Lakeside. I had a 3,3,3,3,3,3,3,2 which was really good for me because I have never scored that many points at Scunthorpe before and the times I did were really fast. The track was in a lovely condition and it was a nice day.

At Scunthorpe it was me, Tom Stokes and Adam Portwood and we were all having very close races and made some excellent passes.

This gave me first place overall I had a very good day and would like to thank Southern Track for letting us join and thanks for everyone's help.

Hi all

Today I rode at Sittingbourne with training from Leigh Lanham; I had a very good day but started off a bit slow although I was flying by the end of the day. I really enjoyed myself and had a great day with Leigh and I would like to thank Leigh and everyone for their help.

Hi all
I rode at Scunthorpe on the 16th February; it was a pretty cold day with some good racing and I finished 3rd overall but drew for 2nd with Tom Stokes (he won on count back).
I had a 2,2,2,2,2,1,1,2 and I think I could have done a bit better.
Adam Portwood finished the day in his last race and won that and it was a close race.

Hi all
On February 10th I was riding in a Southern Track Riders practise day and had a very enjoyable day and was improving each time I went out.

The track was in very good condition and was getting very slick towards the end of the day, I was on my 500 and it was probably the fastest I have been on it and it was easier to ride when I was going faster.

I will next be appearing at Scunthorpe on the 16th February in a 250cc challenge and am hoping to come away with an excellent result.

I would like to thank all the people for their help and advice.

Hi all
On the 2nd February I was riding at king's Lynn alongside Adam Portwood, Matthew Allitt and most of the Boston team. I had a very enjoyable day and was improving each time I went out. It was a nice day and the track was really good, on my first couple of outings I was on my 250cc, then I went on my 500cc and was looking comfortable and confident as people said to me as I came in.

Matthew Allitt was improving as the day went on and did well for his first time back on his bike. Adam Portwood had a good day as well and is improving each time he gets on his bike.

I would like to thank everyone for their help and their support, it was a very enjoyable day with a good track to practise on and it was a good to speak to some of the Boston riders.

Hi all
On the 26th January I rode in my first ever 500cc competition at Scunthorpe. There were 8 youth 500cc riders and I finished 5th, my aim was to get ten points but only achieved 7 but I'm happy with that because it was only my first time in a meeting and I scored really well. I had 3rd, 3rd, n/s, 1st, 2nd, n/s which I thought was really good for my first time and hopefully next time I will reach my target. I would like to thank everyone there for their help and support.

Hi all

On the 14th January I rode at King's Lynn STR and was a very enjoyable day alongside Adam Portwood who was flying, probably the best I have seen him ride and I was also doing the best I have probably been as well. I would like to thank everyone for their help over the two sessions, I had a lovely time and a special thank you to Cookie, Wayne Dunworth and Dale Allitt.

On the 20th of January I was riding at Sittingbourne and it was good but I was struggling to ride so we made a change with the bike and went out and snapped a chain which was not good but it was a good day with good training. Again, thanks to everyone for their help and support.

Hi All

Sorry I have not spoke to you for a long time but my internet has been down.

On the 30th December I rode at Sittingbourne on my 500, I was really confident towards the end of the day and started attacking the 3rd/4th bend but I was not too confident on the 1st/2nd bend. Stevie had me doing starts from the finish line to the first bend every time I went out but when it came to doing four laps I found it difficult going into the 1st/2nd bend but was really good going into the 3rd/4th bend. In my last go I went into the 3rd bend and came off but I'm fine now. For the people who don't know Stevie, he is my tutor and has been really helpful to me. Cheers Stevie.

On the 6th I was on my 500 and my 250. On my first outing on my 500 I was really good; I was attacking both bends and my dad and Stevie were very pleased with me. I maintained that standard throughout the day. When it came to me on my 250 it was really good and going really fast; in my last go I was going from the start to the 1st bend but I did not make it because I flipped it and hurt my back. It was my fault because I did not have enough revs at the start and when it lifted I shut off and opened it up again but I did not realise that until I watched the video when I came home.

I would also like  to thank Mark and Aaron Baseby for all their help last season. Thanks for everyone's help and support

Happy New Year, see you soon

Hi all

On Sunday 2nd December I rode at Sittingbourne, it was a cold day with lots of rain but the rain did not stop anyone from riding, I had a few rides on my 250cc and was doing very well in the tricky conditions and also had a couple of rides on my 500cc for the first time. I was really nervous when I first went out on it but I got used to it and improved each time I went out. I would like to thank Stevie for his help throughout the season, it has been really helpful. I would also like to thank my mum, dad and my brother for all their help, effort and money for this season.

Thank you

Hi all

On Sunday 18th November I was riding at Sittingbourne and helping out the refs corporate day. I lent my bike to Dave Robinson who was improving slowly but surely.

I was riding very well on the day, it was a nice day with all the riders improving each time they went out.

I had 5 rides and would like to thank Stevie, Dyno and George Barclay for their help and advice throughout the day.

I was helping with the Lakeside Hammers auction  and had a great privilege to hand over Adam Shields' helmet colours to a young supporter Jay Hallet.

All the best

Hi
I rode at Scunthorpe on the 28th September, on the day before I went up there for practise and I felt I had done myself proud as I had it mostly open. I got 5 rides and on my last ride I got back to the pits and my dad had congratulated me on the speed I was going and that he could hear my engine roaring round the track.

The next day came pretty quick and I was very confident that I was going to do well. When I got onto the track it was just right, same as the day before. My team were the Bombers; in my team I had Ashley Morris, Chris Bint and me. The first heat of the 250cc bikes came and I watched carefully to see if there was any easy mistakes to make, then I thought of how to avoid them. In the meeting I scored 5 points.

We all had a great time and would like to thank everyone for letting go ahead. Thank you.

Hi all
On Friday 21st September I rode in a Junior 250cc pairs meeting down Lakeside I thoroughly enjoyed myself. My partner was Marc Owen for the Duggo7 Bombers; Laurence Barber and Brendon Warvill for Cooky’s Cowboys and Ashley Morris and Adam Portwood for the Backstraight Boys Bulldogs.

We all enjoyed ourselves very much it was a great evening with some close racing.

I would like to thank the Lakeside Management, Jon Cook, Stuart Douglas, Adrian Kearney and Alan Sargeant for letting this event go on it, was a night for all of us and the supporters to remember.

There were some other races that included the men in black which was really good for me to watch and see what speedway was like in the old days.

I would Like to thank Mark Courtney, Adam Shields, Stevie and the Baseby team for their help and advice throughout the night. Thank you to everyone who attended this meeting and for their support.

See You Soon

Hi again
On Monday 27th August I was riding at Coventry after the meeting. I really enjoyed riding there, it was really fun. I would like to thank all the people who stayed behind to watch me have my laps and and another thanks goes out to the Coventry promotion for letting me ride.

I now get round quite a few places and improving week in and week out; I'm really enjoying riding different tracks because I gain quite a bit more experience and in years to come the experience will come in pretty handy.

Hi all
Last night, the Norfolk Arena hosted a 250cc Exhibition Match between the Bombers and the Spitfires, which left the locals saying "That was simply awesome" as they were leaving the stadium.

The Bombers had their backs to the wall against a very powerful Spitfires quartet, as a result of their No 1 and captain Matthew Allitt being the victim of a road accident earlier in the week, leaving him with a badly broken leg.
The result was taken right down to a last heat decider, with both sets of riders showing a maturity way beyond their years. I for one hope that this becomes a regular thing at tracks around the country, then just maybe, we can witness the start of another British World Champion.

Well done lads, you were all brilliant. Meeting details:

Hi all
I was riding on Saturday 2nd June alongside Marc Owen and Brendon Warville and we were all improving as the day went on with lovely weather throughout the day. I was showing a big improvement and being encouraged by different people and at the end of the day everyone came up to me and said that's the best I have seen you ride this track. On Sunday 3rd June I was training for the morning session at Reading with really hot weather again at Reading. I was slowly but surely improving.
With the new help of Teng Tools, Teng are now one of my sponsors and I would like to thank them very much for their help, thanks.

Hi all
On the 28th May I was down Southend in my mates arcade and when he spoke to me he said:
"There is a nice picture of you in the Southend Evening Echo from when you opened the speedway museum"
and it came to me as a shock because I never knew anything about it.
On the 2nd June I will be practising down at Sittingbourne hoping to improve on my riding skills.

Hi all
On the 17th May I rode a Kings Lynn Powerslide school alongside Matthew Allitt and his mechanic (Stephen Owens) and his dad (Dale Allitt). I rode with Matthew most of the day and we were learning off each other as the day went on; it was a really good as we all met each other again. Matthew was really good and was improving as the day went on and I was also learning from my own mistakes as I took a bit of a nasty fall but I still got back up and rode. I would like to say thank you to Matty, his dad and Steve, thank you all.
All the best.

Yesterday I was at Sittingbourne and had some one to one training with Bradley Kite  who help me get round the first turn. He made me work hard for the time I was on the track and I am looking forward to Bradley helping again. I was originally hoping Paul Hurry would help but due to his current injury he thought it better for him to rest. Thanks Brad.
See ya soon.

Rhys was invited to Stoke today (Monday 16/04/07) to take a test on a 500cc but decided to stay on the 250cc and continue with his education as he said he has just had 2 weeks off and asking for another day off would be wrong.
